The independent automotive parts distribution sector has kicked off 2025 with strong growth. According to the latest Quarterly Activity Report published by ANCERA (National Association of Automotive Equipment, Spare Parts, Tires, and Accessories Dealers), the channel recorded a 7% growth in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2024. This figure not only exceeds initial projections but also reinforces a positive trend that began in previous years.
More than 93% of the distributors surveyed reported growth during this period, reflecting a very positive and widespread start to the year across the aftermarket channel.
The Secretary-General of ANCERA, Carlos Martín, positively evaluates this start: “The sector is showing sustained growth and stable evolution, reinforcing positive prospects for the coming months. In fact, distributors expect to close 2025 with a 5% increase in their activity, and they anticipate this trend will continue into 2026.”
What Drives This Growth?
Among the main factors explaining this performance are:
- Increase in the average mileage of vehicles on the road.
- Mild weather conditions during the first quarter.
- An aging vehicle fleet, which requires more maintenance and replacements.
Challenges Ahead
Despite the positive figures, the sector is not without its challenges. Martín warns about the need to continue adapting to a complex and changing environment:
“We are facing geopolitical uncertainty, pressure on margins and operating costs, increasingly stringent regulations, the process of digitalization and technological adaptation, and managing a changing labor environment.”

The year 2024 was already especially positive for the sector, with a 7% growth compared to the previous year, according to ANCERA data. This figure reflects the structural strength of the independent channel, its adaptability, and its key role within the Spanish automotive ecosystem.
With such a favorable first quarter, all signs point to 2025 being a year of consolidation for parts distribution, which continues to demonstrate its resilience, dynamism, and strategic importance in the national aftersales market.
